The main ingredient of this recipe is broccoli and there are numerous health benefits of broccoli. It is very good source of vitamin K, vitamin C, chromium, and folate. It is also a great source of dietary fiber, pantothenic acid, vitamin B6, vitamin E, manganese, phosphorus, choline, vitamin B1, vitamin A, potassium, copper, and the trace amount of other nutrients.Broccoli is also concentrated in phytonutrients.

  • 1 1/2 cup broccoli (1 small broccoli head) steamed and diced.
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs.(wheat breadcrumbs homemade)
  • 1 tbsp instant tapioca.
  • 1/4 cup cilantro washed and chopped.
  • 1 egg.
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper (crushed).
  • salt according to taste (avoid extra salt for toddlers).
  • 1/2 tsp dried mixed herbs


  1. Preheat your oven to 400ºF, grease a baking sheet lightly with olive oil or line it with a piece of parchment paper .
  2. In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix thoroughly until totally combined.
  3. Take a tablespoon  and scope the mixture in your hands and gently press the mixture to form a ball  and shape it into tater tot. Place it on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake in the oven until golden brown for approximately 18-20 minutes, turning half way.
  5. Remove broccoli cheese tots from the oven.
  6. Serve warm with homemade yogurt dipping sauce/ tomato ketchup to toddlers and with barbecue, ranch or sriracha sauce to adults.
