Sweet tart cherries are one of my favorite fruit since childhood and this fresh fruit is also my favorite dessert topping, sweet tart cherries goes pretty well with milkshakes and sundaes. Although cherry season is quite short in my part of world but now I enjoy them all year around, at least now I can buy frozen cherries. I like fresh or frozen cherries more in comparison to canned or bottled, because they have distinctive dark color and natural sweetness. This time I combined cherries with peach for this beautiful pink cherry peach yogurt smoothie.
Cherries add beautiful color and tartness to the smoothie and ripe peaches add creaminess and sweetness; which compliments the flavor of cherries. Fat free yogurt adds minerals and vitamins to this smoothie without adding extra fat. You can also go for any yogurt or Greek yogurt of your choice. This smoothie can be your breakfast on the go or healthy snack. Add full fat yogurt and honey to this cherry peach yogurt smoothie if you want to serve it to the kids or toddlers.
This cherry peach yogurt smoothie is a nice addition to my healthy smoothies list, especially for summer time or when I do not want to have green smoothie. Why should I miss fresh colorful fruits and berries in mid summer time? The best part is that you can definitely freeze the leftover to make yummy and healthy Popsicle (I did that for my son as he is currently teething).
Hope you will enjoy this summer smoothie recipe. Now it’s the time to blend this super delicious healthy cherry peach yogurt smoothie. Cheers !!
